Introducing the Cagiva Mini Moke

The Cagiva Moke was first introduced in the 1960s as a lightweight military vehicle but soon became a popular civilian car due to its unique design and practicality. With its open-top, rugged construction, and compact size, the Moke quickly became a hit with beach bums and adventurous drivers.

Over the years, the Moke has undergone various design changes and upgrades. Furthermore, the original model featured a 34-horsepower engine and a simple, no-frills design.

However, later versions included a more robust 65 horsepower engine and modern amenities like air conditioning and a stereo system.

Despite its popularity, production of the Moke was halted in the late 1980s. However, the vehicle has since been revived by various manufacturers, with updated versions available in countries such as Australia and Portugal.

Whether you’re cruising along the coastline, exploring rugged terrain, or just looking for a fun ride, the Moke will turn heads and bring a smile. So, prepare for a thrilling adventure in this beloved classic car!

Vehicle History & Information

This Moke was supplied new to Duncan Hamilton Ltd, Basingstoke, the main Moke dealers in the UK and sold to Mrs L Coxon from Mickleton, Gloucestershire, on April 2nd, 1993. The car was sold ten months later (February 1994) to Mr R Grant from Tamworth (see below), who kept the car until 2016.

A typed and signed letter from one of the previous owners (Mr Grant) states he owned the car from February 1994 until March 14th 2016, when the current owner purchased the vehicle. The current owner then sold the car to a friend on August 5th, 2019; the friend rarely used the car, so the current owner repurchased the vehicle.

A full report from the Mini Moke Club from 2013 showed the build specifications when the car left the factory.

The car is a right-hand driver. However, these cars are pretty straightforward to convert to left-hand drive, and we (Clydesdale Classic Cars) can restore them if the new owner wants to take the vehicle abroad.

Vehicle Summary

This is a genuine original car which has been garaged all its life. With the original genuine factory 998cc A+ engine and gearbox with only 10,600 miles from new, everything in the car works; it runs and drives significantly.

Running and driving well, this Cagiva Moke is nicely equipped with a removable rollbar and full weather gear, allowing for year-round use.

As one of the final 1500 examples ever built, combined with the low mileage, this Moke is a highly desirable collectors’ piece, ideal for a summer residence or an eye-catching addition to any collection and a fun way to see and be seen.

The coachwork is finished in Green with White/Green trim. The engine starts, revs and runs as it should, the clutch is good, and the gearbox is smooth through every gear.

This is one of the best examples of a Moke we have seen in a very long time, and I am sure the new owner will be delighted with their purchase.
